Reports to Director of Construction

Position Overview                                                                                                  

  • This position is a mid-level management position within the construction operation. This person reports directly to the Director of Construction.  This person must have 5 years of experience with the construction industry.  This position will have responsibilities in job permitting, construction variance purchase orders, administrative, Architectural Committee Management, and manage permitting coordinators.
  • Requires guidance from Director of Construction on our company objectives. This position will require minimal supervision.
  • Has responsibilities of:
  • Permitting homes for start of construction.
  • Manage plot plans, engineering plans, energy forms, floor plans, elevation plans, door and window schedules.
  • Manage planned development requirements and city ordinances for permitting purposes.
  • Manage submitting Architectural Review Committee’s applications per ARC requirements.
  • Working within Newstar Accounting System to issue Variance Purchase Orders and verify budgets.
  • Manage permit orders sent out weekly.
  • Spread sheets updated weekly.
  • Production Report updated weekly.
  • Manage builder packs delivered to Community Construction Managers timely.
  • Verify correct plans are on our External Drive for all new permit and builder pack orders.
  • Training new hires on permitting process.
  • Keep abreast of updated plans, company products, and services.
  • Must know and understand local building codes and requirements.
  • Must be organized, excellent time management and scheduling practices.
  • May be computer savvy:
  • Excellent with Excel
  • Excellent with Word
  • Excellent with Power Point


  • Has direct responsibility for growth and development of Permitting Coordinator reporting to them:
    • New Hire Permitting Coordinator Training
      • Field Training and desired outcomes.
      • Ensure that Trainee has acquired all knowledge and experience to adequately do the job.
      • Observe and teach “How to Permit Homes”.
      • Perform Performance Reviews annually.
      • Technical training and testing to ensure knowledge is advancing.

Permitting Coordinator Management

  • Will conduct weekly meetings with permitting coordinator to ensure permitting is on task.
  • Will take immediate action when permitting coordinator is not staying on task for job permitting.
  • Will reward and recognize performance on a regular basis.
